1/28/2024 0 Comments Super mario 64 modsI wonder if you could fix this problem? I have thoroughly enjoyed your hack so far. ![]() Therefore, the related hack, Super Mario 64 Plus, is not useful to me. I am playing this hack on a real NTSC N64. This seems to make it impossible to collect two remaining red coins. When I do the red coin mission in Dire Dire Docks, the moving poles do not appear. I made this account specifically to ask you about a problem I'm facing that is preventing me from achieving 100% completion. ![]() Hello, thank you for creating this excellent hack. You can disable the whole bone Mario thing from the options, it's a death counter as opposed to the default lives system of the original game.Īs for the title screen, I guess I can add an option for that too, I see your point. I'll definitely recommend this hack to others once it's refined. I hope you'll take these into consideration on the next update. I have no idea why the bone Mario icon is relevant, it looks out of place.īut other than those two issues, the hack is amazing and makes the game much better to play. Where it's press B to get the bone Mario icon as sort of an easter egg kind of thing. A friend of mine told me that I can press B on the file selection to bypass this, but it should've been the other way around. The second issue I have with the hack is the bone Mario lives icon. The game should look the same as it did, and let the gameplay improvements shine on their own. If this is an improvement hack, this is one let down that doesn't make the game feel official anymore. I don't need a reminder letting me know that I applied the patch successfully and that I'm running the patched rom. However, there's some things that are bothersome. ![]() I love this hack for the improvements, and it does make a definitive way to play SM64 in general. A full changelog is included alongside the patch file. The latest release (R3) adds an additional widescreen patch and introduces a few other additions and fixes. You need a US Z64 ROM of the original game to use the patch. Made by Mors using the SM64 Decompilation project! Shoutouts to GTM for testing, Benial for helping me with the Skull Mario HUD icon, and Kaze Emanuar for giving me the code for his bug fixes. The base hack is fully console compatible, but the widescreen version was NOT tested on real hardware, so if your N64 ends up exploding and giving you 3rd-degree burns, I'm not the one to blame! It also features a few additional bonus features if you're into that sort of thing. This is Super Mario 64, but with changes that would (arguably) make it a better game overall. Given I'm running a 3900X and a 2080 at 1440p, 144hz I don't think this is a hardware problem.Super Mario 64: Arguably Better Edition - R3 I seem to be getting very small lag spikes, I'm not sure if they're just audio or gameplay but they'll occur every now and then when something custom such as the notification of which star you've picked up is displayed. Would adding something similar here be possible? SM64ex's Mario Odyssey Conversion mod has a feature where if you collect say the star from Whomp in Whomp's Fortress, the level transitions to the next act so rather than leaving and entering, one could just go up to the top again and grab the next star. Would it be possible to add an Exit Level option? I quite enjoy the Odyssey style staying inside worlds while you grab stars but once you leave the first floor it's very much a hassle going up/down a level to return to those levels You may also want to check the GitHub repository for more information:Īnd lastly, here's a quick tip for you, you can hold the backspace key or the select button on your controller right after opening the launcher to enable the hidden settings.īlast Away the Wall in Whomp's Fortress seems impossible in Daredevil Mode without glitches due to the forced damage. If you need further support, you can also join the game's official Discord server: To download the launcher for Linux, head here: Other necessary files will be downloaded by the launcher during this process, so an internet connection is required.īefore asking a question, please read the FAQ first: You will need to follow the steps given to you by the launcher and provide your own ROM file to build the game. Please note that MFGG only hosts the launcher/builder for the game, and NOT the game itself. The ability to continue the level after getting a star ![]() These features include (but not limited to): Super Mario 64 Plus is a fork of the Super Mario 64 PC Port that focuses on customizability and aims to add features that not only fix some of the issues found in the base game but also enhance the gameplay overall with extra options.
